A high school boy have been living in a normal life until a person came into his life, Sara. It’s her who was playing with David’s mind all day long. In the class, canteen, school corridor and every time David gazed upon the gorgeous Sarah, his mind seems to be flying high with thoughts.

Weeks have passed, David finally hoisted up the courage to talk to Sara. “Hey, how’s the homework that teacher gave you? Is it hard? Want me to help?” David said with blush. “Slow down, David. The homework is fine. In fact, you’re the one who doesn’t look fine to me.” Sara giggled. He smiled. And since that day, their bond between each other was stronger each and every single day.

School year has finally end for David and Sara, they graduated high school successfully and went for graduation party in Australia, spend the whole winter there. It’s Sara’s dream place called The Lullaby. The Lullaby is where couple spend their night together, loving each other while looking at the godly scenery. David wondered why did this world gets so beautiful when there’s Sara. Under the moonlight, he kissed Sara for the first time. The moon, the stars above, and the calm air breezes, David has finally sealed the deal and be a man of Sarah’s dream.

Time flown quickly, when David was in reach of Sara’s kisses, hugs, and loveliness. He thought that he’s in heaven. Having Sara by his side made him immortal. A perfection. A flawless person. Sara’s love effects David a lot. He woke up with smile on his face. Just the by picture of Sara, David lost in thoughts and constantly smiles alone. She gave him feeling that he adored.

One day, Sara was send to the hospital. Based on her mother, she suffered from a fever. A few days later, there’s still no improvement for Sara. David was so worried. He insisted Sara to go for another check up and that day couldn’t just get worst when her mother said that she have a sickness called anemia. A sickness where the patient has a decreasing number of red blood cells in the body. It’s not that critical until when the doctor said that the decreasing numbers of red blood cells are caused by white blood cells. The fearful and horrible, leukemia.

David’s tears was born from his eyes, lived on his cheeks, and died on his lips. He cried for the sake of love. His love towards Sara made him cried for love. He told Sara “My love to you, will never ever end. You made me feel on top of the world. Believe in me, I’ll make this thing turns better. I love you, Sara.” Day by day, Sara grown weaker.

One day, David went into her radiation room, with full protection. He held onto Sara’s hand. Sara opened her eyes when she felt the presence of David. “Kiss me.” Sara cried. Earlier, the doctor said that he can’t expose any bacteria to Sara because of the radiation that she took. David can’t help the fact of looking at his love in bad condition, he would do anything for her. He ran across the hospital to the nearest pharmacy just to buy an antiseptic. He washed his mouth with it, and he kissed Sara. After month of days without the kiss of Sara. He kissed her. On that day, he cried and said “I will bring you somewhere beautiful, love. I want to be the one who makes you happy.”

After a few days, David returned to the hospital. He whispered “Sara, I bought two plane tickets to go to Australia. If that’s the place I first kissed you. I want it to be where my first and last kiss for you..” Sara cried and hug David with full excitement. That night, they ran to the airport without their parents and hospital’s agreement. They were so excited. Sara seemed to be healthy.

Excitements last for a while, Sara stumbled upon the floor. Blood was everywhere. She became unconscious. The warmth David feels beside her was slowly fading away. He cried for help. With Sara on his lap, mouthful of blood, David cried. Her vision slowly started to fade away, David’s calls are no longer heard by Sara. Minutes after that, she was rushed to the hospital.

It was too late. A split seconds changed everything. David kneel down on the floor, a cried out with all his heart. On that night, he lost his one and only love. He lost his reasons of living. That night, things changed completely. David’s life changed into a  slumber of thoughts and denial.

After attending Sara’s funeral, he cried while holding a plane ticket to Australia and a jar of Sara’s ashes. He said “No matter what, I’ve promised you.” He flew to Australia, went to the The Lullaby. Kissed Sara for the last time, and spread her ashes across the calm sea.
